Process Filtration
With the ultrafilter process filter program we offer a wide range of process filters for the filtration of air, steam, technical gases and liquids. With different stainless steel filter housings with various connection options and the most varied types of filter elements, individual filtration solutions tailored to the customer can be offered.
Sterile filters for use in sensitive production areas where pure, sterile compressed air is required, such as the food and beverage industry.
“Sterile” means “free from microorganisms that are able to reproduce themselves”.
A scientific definition of sterile is that a filter is considered a “sterilization filter” if it has a concentration of less than 107 organisms (Brevundimonas diminuta) per cm⊃2 in exposed areas; comes. In practice one cannot speak of 100% sterile. The sterility can be described by limit values such as the residual content of viable microorganisms. In general, a reduction in living organisms of 10-6 is required for sterilization.
Most bacteria have a diameter of 0.1 to 700 µm and are between 1 µm and 5 µm long, therefore a distinction is made between two types of filters, depth filters (P) -SRF and membrane filters (PF-PF, PF-PES, ...)
A depth filter typically consists of several layers of metallic, polymeric or inorganic material - usually a derivative of silicon called borosilicate.
The type of filter is characterized by high filtration performance and high stability during operation and sterilization. The separation efficiency is given as a percentage based on a defined µm size.

Ultrafilter P-SRF
The ultrafilter P-SRF and SRF sterile filter is a wound depth filter made from a borosilicate glass fiber filter medium. The inner and outer support jacket and the end caps are made of stainless steel.
The separation efficiency is 99.99998% based on 0.01 µm. The three-dimensional depth medium has a void volume of 99%. This guarantees a high dirt holding capacity with a low differential pressure and high flow rate.
For the food industry, depth filters are recommended as sterile filters; these are typically installed locally, the closer to the “point of use”, the better. We recommend prior centralized compressed air preparation using particle and activated carbon filters and adsorption drying.
These filter elements can be sterilized. The sterilization can be done either in-line with steam or in an autoclave. In order to guarantee the steam quality for sterilization, we recommend our P-GS steam filter. If possible, the sterilization should be carried out after each production batch.
The sterilization temperatures vary between 110 ° and 140 ° degrees depending on the duration.

Ultrafilter P-GS
The ultrafilter P-GS filter is designed to remove particles from gases, liquids and water vapor.
The P-GS is made from a regenerable seamless filter tube made of sintered stainless steel.
The retention rate ranges from 1 to 25 microns.
– Good resistance to most liquids, gases and vapors
– The degree of porosity is more than 50% and ensures a high particle and dirt resistance as well as a good flow rate with a low differential pressure.
– Regeneration through an ultrasonic bath
– 18 different sizes for application volumes from 60 to 23.040 Nm3 / h based on 7 bar
– Complies with the requirements of the European directive 97/23 / EC for pressure vessels
– Plug connection guarantees that the elements remain securely fixed at all times.
– Different size elements can be installed due to the modular structure.

Ultrafilter P-BE
With a P-BE filter, 100% sterility can be ensured when storing pharmaceutical products, chemicals or food.
The P-BE is a depth filter with inner and outer protective caps made of stainless steel. Consisting of a three-dimensional borosilicate glass Deep Media, the P-BE achieves a pore volume of 95%, which means high containment at high flow velocities and low differential pressure. A retention rate of> 99.999%, based on 0.01 µm, is achieved during operation. for contact with food in accordance with the requirements CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) tilte 21. All components meet the FDA requirements.

Ultrafilter SM
Filter elements made of stainless steel, which are used for particle filtration. The filter fineness of these surface filters ranges from 1 µm to 1000 µm.
For the filtration of particles in the range of 5 micrometers, 25 micrometers, 50 micrometers, 100 micrometers & 250 µm
Pre and post filters with absolute separation rate for particle removal from ageous solutions, water and other liquids as well as gases. The P-SM consists of a regenerable stainless steel mesh, with stainless steel end caps and external protection. The retention rate ranges from 5 microns to 250 microns.
– The P-SM offers a particularly economical pre- and final filtration.
– Regeneration from stainless steel mesh in an ultrasonic bath or backwashing
– Welded contact points guarantee a constant pore diameter, even under extreme operating conditions
– Also suitable for highly viscous liquids
– Withstands a differential pressure of up to 5 bar (flow from outside to inside)
– Suitable for operating temperatures of up to 200 oC.

Ultrafilter P-FF/P-MF/PSMF
Ultrafilter High-performance depth filter for removing water and oil aerosols as well as compressed air and gases.
Thanks to the unique combination of binder-free, fleece-fiber filter media and pleat technology, a reduction in energy costs of 70% and improved filter performance are achieved.
The new fiber material ultrafilter is oleophobic, which means that oil and water are actively rejected, so that the differential pressure and thus the operating costs are reduced to a minimum compared to a conventional filter element.
You get obvious advantages when you use the new pleated ultrafilter high performance filter element:
-Low differential pressure
– Improved filter performance
– Greater dirt holding capacity
– 70% lower energy costs
In addition, the new filter media ultrafilter are “oleophobic”, which means that oil and water are actively rejected, so that the differential pressure (and thus operating costs) are reduced to a minimum compared to conventional filter elements.
The secret of this great increase in performance lies in the folding of the filter media. The folding process mechanically folds the fleece, making the filter surface 450% larger than that of a conventional filter element.
